Today marks the turning point for 110 startup teams here in Massachusetts. MassChallenge, the world’s largest global startup competition and incubator announced the top 110 teams who will move forward into the next stretch of the competition. The initial pool of applicants from April has been whittled down from 440 entrants from 26 countries and 24 states. The commonwealth welcomes these finalists into the accelerator phase of the competition which will last until mid-October where the teams will vie for a share in the 1 million prize money.
As John Hawthorne put it today, “We are standing in the center of innovation. There is no better place to launch a business than in Massachusetts. We are opening the door to businesses as Massachusetts leads the way as the most innovative state in the world.”
