Wish I had known about Mobistealth when my boyfriend was in Vegas the other weekend (kidding!). Mobistealth, operating out of Salem, Mass., develops spyware software for smartphones. It enables spouses, parents, and employers to monitor what the smartphone user is doing – everything from their location to what photos they’ve taken. They just released their advanced iPhone app today, and according to the company, it is the “most technologically advanced iPhone spy application ever developed.”

The application runs completely in the background and is virtually undetectable. Once downloaded to a phone (which takes a few minutes), you can monitor activity and adjust settings remotely from any browser. The app costs a hefty $40 for 3 months, $60 for 6 months, or $90 for a full year – but is obviously worth it to some. Here’s the monitoring bang you’ll get for your buck:

  • Access email logs
  • View SMS messages
  • View call histories (both made and received)
  • Tap into the phone’s contacts/address book
  • View web browsing history and bookmarks
  • View all the phone’s photos and videos
  • Track the phone’s location  (both by GPS and cell tower triangulation)

In order for Mobistealth to work you have to download the software directly to the phone. And according to the company’s website, this action is only legal if you own the phone. If you’re a parent or spouse you (likely) own it under a family plan contract. If you’re an employer, you own the employees phone. And if you’re a girlfriend or boyfriend or otherwise — you just better take some time to think about what you might be getting yourself into.

Mobistealth’s former iPhone spyware software worked only with jailbroken phones, so this is a big upgrade. It also rounds out their software suite that includes Blackberry and Android. The company offers a 100% money back guarantee.

Has anyone used Mobistealth? Are you part of their “Stealth Club“? We’d love to hear your experience in the comments.
