There are few things we like more here at BostInno than writing about two innovative Boston companies partnering. The T, maybe. And Starbucks vs. Dunkin. But other than that, Boston companies making innovation magic together is right up there.

So I was pleased this morning to see Brightcove and Kinvey announcing an integration for Brightcove’s App Cloud platform. App Cloud lets customers build content rich apps – video and otherwise – and through this partnership Kinvey allows those customers to utilize its backend-as-a-service offering for their App Cloud development. As the release states:

To use the integrated solution, an App Cloud developer simply downloads the Kinvey JavaScript library for App Cloud, drops it into their app, and focuses on creating and building the front end – what users see and do on their mobile phones. The backend is ready to go within minutes, and developers have at their fingertips the Kinvey backend features like: data collections, user management, geoqueries, analytics, versioned APIs, Data Integration (including integrated services of Google Places, Yahoo! Local, and foursquare, automatic sign-on to Facebook) and business logic.

“App Cloud is a very cool way for developers to build successful mobile apps using their HTML5 and Javascript development skills and leverage Brightcove’s strong cloud-based services across a range of platforms and mobile devices,” said Sravish Sridhar, CEO of Kinvey, in the release. “With Kinvey, these developers have the instant ability to stretch the bounds of their app ideas by including any data and cloud services they choose.”

I was over at Brightcove recently – I’ll be writing more on them soon – and got to see a number of the very cool apps being built with App Cloud. Great to see Kinvey making it even easier to utilize the platform.
