It’s the holiday season, and everyone is dashing around trying to get last minute gifts, grab some decorations for the house and prepare for the celebrations ahead.

And while many have the ability to pack their belongings into the backs of their cars, shove bags full of gifts and holiday displays into trunks and strap Christmas Trees to rooftops, others have to stick to taking public transportation.

On more than one occasion already this month, riders along the MBTA have snapped photos of fellow riders boarding various T busses and trains with a massive Christmas Tree in tow.

According to MBTA officials, there is no specific rule against bringing a bristly, five-foot-tall balsam fir on the transportation system, however, they do ask people to be mindful of other riders.

When asked by BostInno if there were any regulations against carrying around a Christmas Tree on the T, a spokesman from the MBTA simply  said “we encourage people to use common sense.”

Some riders don’t seem to mind the holiday cheer traveling alongside them on the T, though.

One Twitter user, @nicolecammorata , called a passenger with his face buried between the bushy branches heroic.

“Christmas tree on the T— this guy is my hero,” she joked.

If riders want to be mindful of those around them (we all know big bags are the brunt of passenger frustration, never mind pine needles on the Green Line) they can always opt for Christmas tree delivery in and around Boston.

If you have no other options, and a pine is your co-passenger on the bus or train, here are 10 places to purchase a Christmas Tree in the Boston-area.

Just be sure you don’t put your Christmas Tree in a stroller. Or else you will probably hear about it in the news.
