The latest round of Apple rumors is upon us, and they’re full of release date info. The rumors stem from iMore, and point to potential release dates for both the iPhone 5S and the iPad 5.  iMore suggests that the iPhone 5S release date will be August of this year, and that the iPad 5 release date will be as soon as April.

iMore’s reputation for predicting Apple releases has led to a slew of coverage from various tech outlets.

On the iPad side of things there’s not much to report here other than the release date. The rumor of an April release is for both the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2.

As for the iPhone 5S, it’ll likely be pretty much the same as the iPhone 5, but with a faster processor and a better camera. From iMore:

With the iPhone 5S, the aim is to once again raise the bar in terms of iPhone optics, including a much better camera in essentially the same casing. No huge surprises there, given the past history of S-class iPhones.

Elsewhere, rumors continue to swirl regarding a potential cheaper iPhone aimed at the Chinese market. This time it’s AppleInsider leading the charge:

Apple reportedly plans to build a more affordable iPhone model this August alongside launch a new world mode “iPhone 5S” featuring compatibility with China Mobile, the largest carrier in the world.

The details were reported on Friday by Chinese tech news site EMSOne (translation), which cited analysts from Barclays Capital. It claimed that a “cheap edition” of the iPhone will be built this year by both Foxconn, Apple’s usual manufacturing partner, as well as Pegatron.

This is a juicy one, obviously, because the Apple strategy has been a relentless focus on the high end in its mobile devices. Honestly, these rumors are wrong as often as they’re right so I’d take this one with a particularly generous grain of salt.

But we don’t have to wait too long to find out. We’ll keep you posted should any interesting leaks arise between now and then.
