When picking out workout clothes, I consider two things: is it comfortable and does it fit? Apparently, now, I need to consider one more: is it see-through?

Thanks to popular athletic gear maker Lululemon, this is a very valid question ladies must now ask themselves when deciding on yoga pants. On Monday, the company announced it was recalling its popular black yoga pants due to “a level of sheerness…that falls short of our very high standards.”

In a damning press release headlined “Black Luon Pants Shortage Expected,” the company said that the affected items make up approximately 17 percent of all women’s bottoms currently in stores, and warned patrons that there will be a shortage of these pants for the time being.

Then, the Internet exploded with tweets of disgruntled ladies, even more disgruntled gentlemen, and everyone in general wondering why this recall is news in the first place.

The recall is for black yoga pants and crops purchased after March 1, 2013, and customers will be offered a full refund or exchange.

Lululemon insists that materials used to make the pants have not changed since 2004. The pants are made in Vietnam and Taiwan.

CNBC reports that shares of Lululemon fell more than six percent after the recall was announced.

From the release:

We expect this issue will have a significant impact on our financial results. Up to March 17, 2013, we were tracking to a comparable-store sales percentage increase of 11% on a constant dollar basis and expected revenue guidance to be in a range of $350 million to $355 million for the first quarter of 2013. We now expect a comparable-store sales percentage increase in the range of 5% to 8% for the first quarter of 2013, resulting in an expected revenue range of $333 million to $343 million.

Lululemon has an earnings call on Thursday, March 21st.
