In a preemptive move, Apple has announced the release of a WWDC 2013 iOS app one week ahead of the actual World Wide Developers Conference. Likely anticipating a massive attendance, both in person and online, the Cupertino-based electronics conglomerate’s new WWDC app allows for the Apple faithful to stay up to date with all new product and software releases at the WWDC keynote session on June 10.

To download the app, you have to be a Registered Apple Developer but constant videos and news updates coming from the San Francisco event make signing up more than worth it. The WWDC, along with any other launch event hosted by Apple, is perpetually a big draw from techies writers alike so creating an app for live updates, videos, and photos, will only increase the reach of its initial in-event announcements.

With the app the following features and operations are available,

“Make the most of the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference with the WWDC app. Even if you can’t join us in San Francisco, you can still follow along each day — session videos are just a tap away for all Registered Apple Developers.

– Browse times, locations, and descriptions for sessions, labs, and special events
– Mark schedule items as favorites with a simple double-tap
– Watch session videos, available daily
– Start watching on one iOS device, and pick up where you left off on another
– Keep up with the latest news, get important notifications, and see daily snapshots
– View maps to find your way around Moscone West
– Provide feedback on session content and speakers within the session details view
– Add your attendee information to Passbook for speedier on-site registration”

The app itself is so polished that, as noted on 9to5mac, those who have already downloaded it are wondering if it is actually a preview version of iOS 7, the highly-anticipated mobile operating system by Apple.

Also thought to debut alongside iOS 7 at the WWDC is OS X, Apple’s standard operating system; an iPhone 5S and/or low-cost iPhone, though last year the iPhone 5 was released in a separate September launch event; an updated iPad and iPad Mini; and next-generation MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptops.

For whose who have already downloaded the WWDC app, or are going to soon, let us know how it works, how it looks, and if you find it convenient or not. Also, what kind of product developments and updates are you hoping for from WWDC?
