Update 6/12: According to Eater, An Tua Nua isn’t exactly gone forever – the Fenway bar will be reopening, under the same owners, but with a different name. Arc, featuring a compass-sign logo, will fill the building that An Tua Nua once occupied, in an effort to revamp the bar’s image.

News officially broke this morning that Kenmore/Fenway bar An Tua Nua will be closing for good this Saturday. After rumors swirled, the company itself took to Twitter to announce the fate of the nightlife spot.

The bar featured different forms of entertainment during the week, including a Gothic and Industrial night on Mondays and Risque Classes on Wednesdays, as well as a front room bar and back room dance floor.

Eater Boston reports that a commenter on Chowhound responded to the news with the tip that a reopening is in store, with a new concept, for the same owners. As of now, that news is yet to be confirmed.

An Tua Nua, we’ll be sad to see you and your $1 watery beer nights go.
