As the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date nears, Samsung this morning sent out invitations for a press event the day before the IFA expo in Berlin to debut a new Galaxy branded device. Most likely it will be the next-generation Galaxy Note 3 smartphone-tablet hybrid. The IFA is an annual telecommunications convention in Germany’s capital city and happens to be the same venue Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Note 2 last year.

Though last week we saw a bevy of leaked specs, there’s still plenty to learn when it comes to Samsung’s flagship phablet. The latest development concerning the device was about its s LTE-Advanced connectivity. LTE-Advanced offers around twice the speed of existent 4G radios and can be found in the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy S4. While note yet available in the U.S., if nothing else the connectivity shows just how powerful and fast the device is capable of being when outfitted to the right network.

As for what else has been speculated thus far, users and Samsung loyalists should look forward to a bulky 5.7-inch full HD super AMOLED display, with either an Exynos 5 Octa or Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 32GB of internal storage with the likelihood of MicroSD support, and probably some kind of external upgrade with the bezel or shell. A 13MP camera will allow the device to compete with the overhauled photo technology of the likes of Nokia and its Lumia 1020.

Samsung has also reportedly begun production of 3GB memory chips. A burgeoning trend with mobile devices, 3GB of RAM would allow the Note 3 to have faster processing with seamless multitasking capabilities. While nothing completely new — the LG G2 is expected to sport 3GB of memory — the increase in memory is just another aspect Samsung is looking to promote and separate from the competition in an already saturated high-end smartphone market. Very few things are able to break a device away from the pack these days so Samsung is putting its chips on faster computing courtesy of its memory chips. This is a strong contrast to the likes of the recently released Moto X by Motorola, which is focused more on user-friendliness and customization.
