Until now the Apple iPhone 5S release date has been thought to be September with not specific date in mind. Over the weekend though, sources told AllThingsD that the iPhone 5S release date will be scheduled for September 10 meaning tech junkies and Apple users won’t have to wait  for the next-gen flagship smartphone and likely iOS 7, Apple’s signature mobile operating system, for much longer.

Aside from the mention that sources relayed the release date information to AllThingsD, there’s no other information mentioned that we haven’t already heard. Adding to the intrigue would have been some deliberations as to the launch of iOS 7, but that admittedly will most likely be during the same event. The same would be true for the low-cost iPhone 5C, though that too will likely debut alongside the 5S.

The release date of the iPhone 5S has been a hot button topic of sorts recently as conflicting reports have either pegged the handset’s unveiling to be right on schedule or conversely that constrained shipments have provided poor yields of the device have pushed the availability.

The latest report courtesy of AllThingsD’s sources, though, are in line with the predictions of KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo who forecasted that Apple’s iPhone 5S would be consumer ready by late September, which would coincide with a September 10 release, though that same report also pegs an earlier release of the 5C.

Perhaps the seemingly constant contradictory reports are exactly what Apple wants leading up to its new product launches as now pundits have different sights to focus their attentions on rather than what’s going on behind the scenes in Cupertino. For instance, it has become apparent that Apple is including new technology in its upcoming flagship, and, in typical Apple fashion, there have been conflicting reports as to whether the purported fingerprint sensor is a definite addition to the 5S.
