At Gamescom 2013 this morning, Microsoft announced its Xbox One game lineup upon the console’s release as well as the free addition of FIFA 14 for those in Europe who pre-order the One. Microsoft hosted a showcase at Gamescom today but as the popular consumer electronics convention is taking place in Cologne, Germany, Microsoft’s announcement didn’t come until about 5 a.m. ET this morning. Below is the list of games that Xbox One will carry when released in November of this year.

Here’s lineup of Xbox One compatible games with developer and publisher in parentheses for this November via IGN:

  • Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag (Ubisoft, Ubisoft)
  • Battlefield 4 (DICE, Electronic Arts)
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts (Infinity Ward, Activision)

As aforementioned, gamers in Europe will be awarded a free copy of FIFA 14 with their Xbox One if they pre-order the console. Even better is that “FIFA 14 will also come with exclusive content on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, including an ‘Ultimate Team Legends’ mode featuring classic players alongside current stars,” according to the Huffington Post.

But why? Simply put many feel the Xbox One was too expensive not to come with some kind of gimmick to appease the masses. But to smooth things over even further, Microsoft reiterated that the Xbox One will be a haven for indie gaming devs as the console will come equipped with a developers kit to allow for independent development and publishing.

Microsoft’s perpetual rival Sony is expected to announce its PS4 release date at Gamescom 2013 as well so stay tuned to BostInno for the latest on that. In the meantime, EA will be hosting a live streamed press conference of its own where it’ll respectively announce its own line of games to be made available across most gaming platforms.
