Sorry conDUCKtors, Shanghai, China has outdone Boston with their “new take” on a duck tour. And by outdone, I mean, outrageous. According to The Atlantic, Shanghai’s newest passenger ferry resembles (everyone’s favorite dinner), roasted duck with “crispy brown skin, drumsticks, and a yellow papier mache head.” Quack quack, I’m not sure that our low key, “splashdown” amphibious vehicles can compare to this monstrosity of a ferry.

The Atlantic reported that the crispy duck boat was inspired by a globe-trotting Rubber Duck and, due to Shanghai’s “recent heat wave,” the city decided to transform the ever-so-cute rubber duckie into a giant roasted ferry duck. Not only will the hilarious duck ferry carry passengers across the Huangpu River, but it will also host “cultural performances” such as poetry readings. Whatever. At least we don’t have to listen to our duck boat conductors do that.

So, how does this giant roasted duck ferry stack up against Boston’s own duck tour boat? Do you think its funny, weird, delicious … kind of gross? Let us know.
