Attention Downtown Crossing residents – (I’m even looking at you Financial District dwellers, college students and those lounging in their downtown luxury condos) you will soon look forward to grocery shopping. Roche Brothers will be opening their “first downtown grocery store,” according to The Boston Herald. And not just any grocery store, a “very high quality, good value, gourmet supermarket,” stated Millenium Partners’, Tony Pangara.

Pangara announced the plans for the new urban grocery store at “the groundbreaking of the $630 million Millennium Tower project” today, and announced that the gourmet supermarket plans to make its debut by mid 2015. Finally Downtown Crossing residents won’t have to worry about “what’s for dinner” once they get home. After all, traveling all the way to Beacon Hill’s Whole Foods for a healthy meal can get old.

Inside the Millenium Tower project which “includes redevelopment of the former Filene’s building” will also include “nearly 500 luxury condos and around 100 rental apartments… as well as up to 231,000 square feet of retail,” according to Curbed Boston.

And nearly “30,000 square feet” of it will belong to Roche Brothers. The grocery store will sell “healthy and natural foods, prepared foods, fresh meat and fish” — and will surely make the lives of Downtown Crossing’s young professional’s much easier. And, just in case you aren’t already familiar with Roche Brothers, the family-owned, small chain is headquartered nearby in Wellesley, MA. Check out their website if you’re interested – although, I should warn you that once you see their “self-basting” rotisserie chicken, your mouth will start to water.
