Samuels & Associates submitted an official proposal for the $500 million Landmark Center expansion and renovation. One of the many Fenway/Kenmore projects underway, the proposal will add three 10-12 story residential buildings, a new food hall, 15,000 square feet of office space, and 110,000 square feet of additional retail space.

Most importantly for those loyal fans and upstate New Yorkers, the highly anticipated Wegmans supermarket will find its new 750,000-square-foot home in the Fenway area complex. “It will make every other supermarket in our region better because they will need to compete with Wegman’s,” Peter Meade, Boston Redevelopment Authority director notes.

A 25,800-square-foot public plaza will face Brookline avenue, transforming a current parking lot to public seating and open green space. A five-story parking garage will be replaced with over 1,500 spaces below ground to serve the Center. The 2.2 acres of open space will lie on the corner of Brookline Avenue and Kilmarnock Street.

Samuels bought the Landmark Center for $530 million in 2011, and has had a large hand in many other Fenway area reconstructions, including the $200 million Trilogy project, which broke ground in 2004. The company is currently working on the Point, a 22-story residential building on Brookline Ave.

“The expansion of Landmark assures the continued residential vibrancy of the neighborhood, supports its growth as a commercial center and introduces Wegmans as another amenity that is easily accessible to the entire city via the MBTA,” says Steve Samuels, chairman of Samuels & Associates. “This project allows us to continue to knit together the neighborhood.”
