UPDATE: The Suffolk County District Attorney said as of midday Thursday, 10 arrest reports had been processed from the aftermath of the Red Sox World Series win.
Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox for taking home their third World Series in the last ten years. As soon as Koji Uehara struck out Matt Carpenter to secure the victory, thousands of Bostonians flooded the city’s narrow, crooked streets to celebrate in triumphant fashion. But tsk, tsk, tsk for the nine unruly fans who were arrested last night for perhaps celebrating with a bit too much championship cheer.
The Boston Police Department took to Twitter during the festivities last night in hopes of deterring those surfing the internet from joining in the mob-like jubilee, especially in and around the Fenway area.

Eventually, just a total of nine were put behind bars in Boston, though notorious riot institution UMass Amerhst, colloquially known as The Zoo, saw 14 students and one other arrested and charged with failing to disperse and two more charged with assault and battery on a police officer. Luckily, no injuries were reported.
The Massachusetts State Police haven’t posted any arrest notices of their own, on their website or via Twitter, but photos indicate that they had plenty of troops deployed throughout Red Sox Nation to quell any ill-tempered violence or drunken shenanigans.
