Tomorrow, November 5 — Election Day — City Councilor John Connolly will cast his ballot for mayor.

The City Councilor will be joined by his wife Meg at West Roxbury’s Saint George Church, located 55 Emmonsdale Road, their home polling station, at 7:20 a.m., shortly after poll across the City open.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Registered voters in line at any polling station before 8 p.m. will be allowed to cast a ballot.

The Connolly campaign will hold an election night reception on the third floor of Westin Copley Place, at the Staffordshire Foyer, located at 10 Huntington Avenue. Access for media members with campaign issued-credentials will be permitted at 4:30 p.m. Doors will open to the public at 8 p.m., once polls have closed.

Similarly, Marty Walsh will head to the polls, though, it won’t be until 8:30 am and will be at his hometown Dorchester’s Cristo Rey School on Savin Hill Ave. He’ll be accompanied by his longtime girlfriend of eight years, Lorrie Higgins, and her daughter Lauren.

After he casts his own ballot, the state Representative and former labor leader will accompany his mother to vote at the Catherine Clark apartments, also in Dorchester.

Once he spends his afternoon greeting voters and various polls throughout the city, Walsh will host an election night gathering at the Park Plaza Hotel, which has been the spot for a number of high-profile politicos in Massachusetts to put on a soirée, such as Senator Ed Markey and former Senator Scott Brown.

Interestingly, the Park Plaza employs a number of workers who are also members of the UNITE HERE Local 26 union which aims to protect the rights of those in the hospitality industry. But this is one of the few organizations that has not donated to the Walsh camp. They have, however, donated to John Connolly in the past, but not since 2011.
