It’s snowing outside, and more inches are expected throughout the evening here in Boston. This is the kind of news that makes you want to leave work, brave the T as early as possible, and cozy up on the couch with a good movie and glass of wine. Or hot cocoa, whatever.

Well, you could do that, or instead, you could brave the elements and go out to dinner … outdoors.

Yes, as in, where the snow is. Moksa in Central Square is hosting the first-ever, one-time-only “Eat in the Snow” Outdoor Dinner, tonight during the evening snowstorm. This unique, chilly, dining experience will take place on the Asian-inspired restaurant’s outdoor patio, and reservations are limited and $25 – don’t all jump at once.

But, if you really love the snow, then bundle up. Moksa encourages dinner guests to dress warmly, and the evening is BYOB – Bring Your Own Blankets, duh. Wrap yourself in warmth and when you arrive, you’ll be greeted with hot cocktails, like Sake, Grog (made with apple cider and rum) and Milk and Honey, made with infused brandy, rooibos and honey. Don’t be shy: You’re eating in the snow, after all.

For dinner, Moksa will be serving up snow-inspired small dishes: Hot & Sour Soup, Seafood Tom Yum Soup, Baby Back Ribs, Vegetable Curry and Coconut Rice Pudding are all on the menu. Don’t forget to catch some snowflakes on your tongue to cleanse the palate and wash it all down.

Dinner starts at 7 p.m., and as of now, people are being advised to take public transportation. The snow is supposed to continue heavily through the night until it tapers off at about 8 p.m., so be sure to bundle up if you are indeed up for the city’s first dinner in the snow.

Reservations are accepted online or by phone at 617-661-4900.
