There may be a ton of snow on the ground but regardless, true New Englanders are still wading through the schlep, iced Dunkin’ in hand. The ever popular franchise is a staple in this part of the country, and the fact that we wrote about the chain 35 times should solidify that fact. But in case you missed it, here’s a quick recap of Dunkin’ in 2013.

This year started off honorably for Dunkin’ when one of their employees (in true New England fashion) actually thwarted a thief by pouring hot coffee on them. And the story is only made better by the fact that as the thief fled, the employee yelled, “Go run on Dunkin!

But before you start to glaze over, know that the chain also put out quite a few unique treats including the Boston Scream donut, special munchkins in honor of the “royal munchkin” (i.e. William and Kate’s son), and finally (we saved the best for last), the Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich – cue heavenly music.

Ah, yes. You didn’t think we would let you forget about a donut sandwich, did you? The fatty goodness may not have been a hit with critics but the average joe sure appreciated the doughy food porn.

And food aside, who could forget Dunkin’s involvement in Boston sports? This year the franchise put out the first-ever Vine commercial during Monday night Football and even gave out free coffee to celebrate the Red Sox win.

And then “Gronk Chomp” happened. Dunkin’ partnered with Rob Gronkowski to release this online video game, which resembled Pac-Man (read: basically was Pac-Man) and the winner ate breakfast with Gronk.

The chain also stayed open during the Boston Marathon bombing lockdown. Now, that’s dedication. And finally, we may love Dunkin’, but we didn’t love their “red velvet latte” – here’s why.
