MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo told BostInno in an email that the T was made aware of the photo and a subway supervisor was sent to look into the situation.

“The Orange Line Inspector, a 7-year employee, has been removed from service while an investigation takes place,” Pesaturo said.

This is the second such instance this week that an MBTA employee has been caught sleeping on the job. The previously reported incident occurred at Park Street station.

“This disgraceful behavior is not only inexcusable, it’s a disservice to the vast majority of T employees who are working hard every day to help deliver safe and reliable services.  Employees who fail to perform their duties are disciplined.  The Green Line employee, photographed at Park this week, is currently out of service and not being paid,” added Pesaturo, speaking on behalf of the authority.
