The problem with someone like Malcolm Smith winning Super Bowl MVP is that, inevitably, we’re all nervous that someone would interrupt his fairytale. He was a seventh round pick, and taken closer to the end of the NFL draft’s final round than it’s beginning. Smith caught the game-ending interception in the NFC Championship, and made game-changing plays in the Super Bowl. He was awarded the MVP, and was cruising along in his dream scenario until this guy showed up:

UPDATE: We now have a better video. Hurrah! First, apologies that the video isn’t better quality, it’s the best that could be done in short time.

Second, this will probably only dim Smith’s night about 0.0000000000000001 percent, SINCE HE WON THE SUPER BOWL … AND A FREE CAR!

Finally, we get to the weirdo who interrupted him. He shouted about how 9/11 was “perpetrated by people within our own government.” He seems to be a classic 9/11 “truther.”

Just look at the guy’s eyes when he looks into the camera. Pure crazy. A million questions will be asked about how exactly this guy got even into these press conferences, let alone anywhere near the front.

It gets more weird when you consider the strange rumors that Pete Carroll, coach of Smith’s team (the newly crowned champs), has been accused of being a 9/11 “truther” himself.

In the end, it’s not that hard for Smith to let go of the strange experience that happened during his victory lap, and what’s awesome is that even in that bizarre moment, Smith’s first thought was to make sure everyone around him was okay. No word yet on the name and fate of the interrupter, though undoubtedly that will come to light soon enough.
