The second MBTA Green Line Extension Project public outreach event is scheduled to take place in Somerville Tuesday afternoon, at the Holiday Inn.

Members of MassDOT, the T and White Skanska Kiewit, JV, announced that the second GLX meeting will focus on Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contracts “1, 2, & 3,” the scope of work, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) opportunities, and subcontractor pre-qualification process and procedures.

The event will be held at the Holiday Inn, 30 Washington St., inside the Assembly Square Ball Room, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Subcontractors and vendors interested in attending must register by emailing Mark Smith (WSKdbe@jfwhite.com), and are asked to include a company name–and names of those attending.

Space will be limited; those attending are encouraged to arrive early.

The GLX Project will extend Green Line service through Cambridge, Somerville, and Medford. Major work includes: the construction of 6 new stations, a new maintenance vehicle facility, additional viaduct and bridge construction, drainage and utility work, signal and communication upgrades.

Once completed, Green Line service will extend from a relocated Lechmere Station to Union Square in Somerville and on to College Avenue in Medford.
