Your future lunch hour just got a whole lot better. Banker & Tradesman reported yesterday that the popular London-based sandwich cafe chain, Pret A Manger plans to expand throughout the Hub.

According to the article, Joseph Iazzetta, vice president of store development for Pret A Manger USA says in a statement:

“We would like to maintain a pace of opening a minimum of three new locations a year for the next four to five years…Our growth plans as it relates to the Boston/Cambridge area is to seek out the best real estate opportunities at a measured, yet aggressive pace.”

More specifically, it looks like Pret A Manger plans to open a location at “101 Arch St. in Boston’s Downtown Crossing at a former Men’s Wearhouse.” But the article reports the “other locations have not yet been determined.”

Currently, there are two Pret A Manger cafes located on Boylston Street and another located in Post Office Square on Franklin Street. But if you look at Pret A Manger’s presence in other big cities throughout U.S., you’ll see that currently, Boston has the least number of cafes.

That could be changing though. The article claims that Pret A Manger is looking to “expand with at least a dozen cafes in Boston and Cambridge over the next four to five years.” We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about the exact locations. In the meantime, cheers to more power lunch options in Boston’s future.
