With yesterdays ‘snow sprawl’ and temps in the teens, it’s hard to believe spring is less than three weeks away. Put down your dark beers and start sipping on something a bit more seasonal. These fruity and fresh cocktails will leave you anticipating the blooming flowers and longer days. But don’t expect the snow to melt quite yet. Does anyone remember last March? Blizzard. Here’s to hoping this year’s different. And if it’s not, well, at least we have these delicious low-calorie cocktails to get us through the sleet and freezing rain.

Bombay Magic

Ingredients: 1/2 ounce Cointreau, 1/2 ounce tequila or vodka, juice of 1/2 lemon, splash of club soda, mint leaf

Directions: Squeeze lemon and mix with Cointreau and either tequila or vodka. Top it off with club soda. Use a mint leaf for garnishing.

White Sangria

Ingredients: 12-oz. can mango juice, 12-oz. can pineapple juice, 1 liter bottle of seltzer, 1 bottle white wine, fruit, ice

Directions: Slice up the fruit. Pour all the ingredients into a serving pitcher and add ice. Stir and refrigerate so the flavors blend. Makes 10 eight-once servings.

Tequila Bramble

Ingredients: 5 blackberries, 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice, 1/2 ounce agave nectar, 1/2 ounce blackberry-flavored liqueur, 1 1/2 ounces tequila.

Directions: Muddle blackberries in lime juice. Add in ice and remaining ingredients. Serve with a straw and enjoy!

Classic Margarita

Ingredients: 1 1/2 ounces tequila, 1 ounce fresh lime juice, 1/2 ounce Cointreau

Directions: Fill shaker with ingredients, shake together and serve over ice.

Grape Crush

Ingredients: 8 seedless grapes, 1 1/2 ounces grapes juice, 1 tsp fresh lemon juice, 2 ounces vodka, splash of soda water, lemon for garnish.

Directions: In a shaker, muddle grapes. Add in remaining ingredients and shake. Serve over ice.
