People at South Boston’s Joe Moakley Federal Courthouse were in for a rude awakening today when Mother Earth doled out a harsh reminder that even scenic, coastal governmental buildings aren’t exempt from her wrath.
Boston Police Captain John Greland tweeted the following image below. That’s right, there’s a sinkhole right in South Boston’s front yard.

Per the image, it appears as though the affected area has since been quarantined and there’s a crew of some sorts on-site.
Just when you thought the thousands of potholes due to the inclement winter weather were a thing of the past, we now have to be on the lookout that the ground doesn’t completely fall away from beneath our very feet.
