Spring is approaching, and it’s bringing sunnier days and warmer temperatures. If you’re looking for an excuse to spend more time outside, then food trucks are a solid choice for outdoor dining.
On April 1, the food trucks of Boston will start their engines and head down to the Rose Kennedy Greenway for the fifth season of Mobile Eats. This program brings the top trucks to locations throughout the Greenway for your on-the-go eating pleasure. And since these trucks are allowed to be stationed inside the park, instead of on the streets, the trucks are closer together, so you don’t have to trek too far to find your food of choice.
With 30 vendors total, the 2014 season of Greenway Mobile Eats is the largest yet, up from 22 vendors last year. Hungry patrons can choose from a wide selection of food trucks that will be positioned primarily at Dewey Square Plaza, Rowe’s Wharf Plaza, and the Rings Fountain. Trucks will also be found in Dewey Square Park and Chinatown Park.
“We are so pleased to open our fifth season of Mobile Eats with our largest ever fleet of vendors,” said Jesse Brackenbury, executive director of the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy. “We are proud to support the entrepreneurs and restaurateurs who have built a vibrant mobile food industry in Boston as we welcome them back to the Greenway for another delicious season.”
This season’s lineup includes 15 vendors that are new to Mobile Eats, and out of those trucks, four are first-timers in Boston. These newbies include Evan’s New York Style Deli (genuine, New York style deli), Moyzilla (Chinese dumplings), Stoked Pizza (wood-fired oven on board), and Zo on the Go (authentic gyros).
You can also stick with the old faithfuls, like Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, Bon Me, Clover Food Lab, and the many other food trucks that have established their tasty presence around town.
