Spring in Boston brings warmer weather, patio drinking and (of course) a hoard of tourists from all over the world. Whether you’re downtown or in the North End, it’s hard to avoid their flashing cameras and segway tours. But, admittedly, I do actually enjoy giving tourists “local recs,” helping them avoid some of the over-priced gimmicks.

However, I definitely don’t enjoy the long lines or middle school field trip stampedes. But I digress.

The fact is – if we’re going to live in one of the most historical cities in the country, we simply must accept its tourist-laden environment. Embrace it and appreciate the fact that people actually want to spend their money to visit our city.

According to LoveHomeSwap.com, we should also embrace the fact that we live in a city with the seventh most visited tourist attraction in the world, Faneuil Hall. After much “extensive research,” the website put together a list of the top 50 tourist attractions in the world, which you can see for yourself in the infographic below.

Boston’s Faneuil Hall came in at number seven with 18 million visitors per year. According to the data, the landmark’s peak seasons include April through June and September through October.

And I suppose it’s true – you can’t visit Boston without also visiting Faneuil Hall. I remember touring the area on my first trip to Boston at 14 years old (a la frizzy hair and braces). Faneuil Hall and duck tours were certainly the highlights. Good times.

Check out the tourist attraction infographic below and let us know why you love (or hate) the spring tourist season.
