Public service announcement, folks! This coming Sunday, May 11 is Mother’s Day. And if the date slipped your mind, you should know that it’s not too late to purchase and send a Mother’s Day Card (online, anyway).

Fortunately, the local non-profit, Community Servings, has a pretty brilliant idea that’s a win/win for everyone involved. Not only will you be able to honor your own mother, but you can also help someone at the same time. The New England non-profit, which delivers meals to the critically ill and their families, is offering up a special Meals4Moms Mother’s Day deal.

Per the Meals4Moms campaign, you can purchase an e-card to send to your mother and in turn, Community Servings will provide a local mom in need with a week’s worth of home-delivered meals.

The website explains that the critically ill mother will receive a nutritious home-delivered meal. Your mother will receive “a beautiful e-card detailing your contribution and you’ll feed a neighbor in need.” The proceeds from the Meals4Moms fundraiser will go towards feeding 1,425 people in need this spring.

In addition, the non-profit is also making it possible for you to purchase Mother’s Day gifts on their website. Choose from the online gift selection, which includes a Fastachi tin of gourmet nuts, a Fastachi box of handmade chocolates, or an additional donation to the nonprofit.

For more information, check out the Meals4Moms website and don’t forget to send your mom a card this weekend. Just make sure you do it, here.
