Hooray! After a long and miserable winter (to say the least), burger season and backyard grilling have finally returned to our lives. And thankfully for those of us who don’t happen to own a grill, there are some pretty tasty alternatives in the Hub. Plenty of restaurants and bars will be showcasing their mouthwatering burgers this summer and one of the best happens to be served right here in Boston.

At least, according to CNN’s hamburger expert, Josh Ozersky. The burger aficionado compiled his Top 10 Must-Try Burgers for 2014 and one Boston restaurant made the cut. Ozersky claims that the Secret Burger at Alden & Harlow “more than lived up to its reputation.”

He continues, stating “…the bun is squishy, the sauce Thousand Island-y, the lettuce and tomato dispensable… there is no burger on this list that has more magnificent meat, a three-way Creekstone blend to which has been added some secret smoked element.”

It certainly sounds enticing – and so does the rest of Alden & Harlow’s menu. In fact, I’ve never had a bad meal there (fact). Chef Michael Scelfo’s Harvard Square eatery serves up some of the freshest and tastiest snacks around – not to mention, a dish of grilled carrots that will knock your socks off. But I digress.

And with their Secret Burger now on a national list, we’re pretty sure folks from all over will soon become acquainted with that “secret smoked element.”
