TD Garden might not have any sports happening in it at the moment, but there is plenty of activity happening in the home of the Bruins and Celtics at the moment. The nearly 20-year-old arena is in the midst of a two year, $70 million round of renovations that will improve and upgrade a number of aspects of the fan experience, including upgraded wireless, better food that includes a more Boston feel, and (eventually) a new, expanded Pro Shop.

Here are a few of the pictures and renderings of what things look like now, and what they will eventually be:

Bruins principal Charlie Jacobs makes a few remarks about the renovations before accompanying the media on a tour.

Normally this will be covered by panels, but here’s a glimpse of the new wireless components next to the Garden floor, which will improve the internet experience considerably.

The concourse floor will be modeled after the hashing of a hockey puck.

Just another regular meeting of the construction directors. Blades the Bruin is an avid schematic reader.

How things will look at the end of renovations:

New food options will be added, to include more Boston-specific options:

Also, more local beers will be available for purchase:

An example of the new effort to include Boston-based food and beer is the Harpoon IPA usage in seafood preparation:

Looking at an early installation of some of the new multimedia that will be placed around the concourse.

And one more new look that will be installed is actually a glimpse at the past: legends portraits. Eddie Shore seen here.
