Uber changed the pricing of its UberBLACK car services in Boston Monday afternoon.

New Black car pricing for Boston users went into effect at 12 p.m., Uber Boston announced on its company blog Monday afternoon. The minimum $15 fare and $7 base charge for Boston UberBLACK trips will remain the same, but per mile and per minute charges are now $0.45 and $3.95, respectively.

The good news, Uber users: “Pricing for uberX, uberXL, and UberSUV will remain unchanged,” the blog post states.

UberBLACK, the disruptive ride-sharing company’s “original” product, offers users trips inside newer, high-class vehicles. Users who spring for the popular – and cheaper – uberX service, meanwhile, could find themselves hopping in the back of a Toyota Camry, Honda CRV or whatever make and model vehicle their driver happens to be in possession of.

Similar changes to UberBLACK pricing have been made previously in other cities, like New York, where Uber raised per-minute and per-mile charges from $0.95 to $1 and from $3.90 to $4.55, respectively. The UberBLACK rate changes in New York took effect in early April, three years after Uber launched the service in that city, Business Insider reports. Pricing had remained unchanged until that time.
