Does “Girls” inspire you? Are you a struggling millennial just looking to express your artistic talents? Do you *have* a talent? Then Lena Dunham wants you to open her Boston show when she comes to town this October.

Promoting the release of her first book “Not That Kind of Girl,” Dunham will be taking the show on the road, arriving in Boston to perform at The Wilbur Theater on October 2, just days after her book hits shelves on September 30. Presented by Brookline Booksmith, Dunham will read excerpts from her book and answer audience questions during the intimate evening, and poet and Mary Karr will also make an appearance for an on-stage conversation.

But, Dunham needs one more person to join the show, and she’s seeking out locals in each city to submit a video demonstrating a talent like singing, stand up, or something quirky. The act must be no more than 3 to 5 minutes long, and must incorporate a limited set (as in, a lone microphone). To keep the talent search local to each city, participants must be located within a 75 mile radius of the city in which they’re submitting a video. Submissions must be entered by 11:59 p.m. on August 1.

If you’d rather just go and see the show rather than perform in it, pre-sale tickets are now on available for $46 a piece with the code ‘BOSTON.’
