The Wegmans empire is growing, and shoppers can expect two more of the acclaimed chain’s grocery stores to open in Massachusetts in the future.

Boston.com reported this morning that the company announced a push for expansion over the next one to two years that will result in 10 new stores total in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. As for Massachusetts, a new location of Wegmans will be headed to Burlington, Mass. as well as Westwood, Mass., and the openings are slated for as soon as fall of this year.

Earlier this year, a Wegmans came to Chestnut Hill on Route 9, complete with a beer and wine store and all of the prepared foods that makes the chain so popular. Before the Chestnut Hill location opened, just one Massachusetts (and New England, for that matter) Wegmans existed in Northborough, Mass.

As for the rest of the upcoming additions to the Wegmans chain, four stores will open in Virginia, two in New Jersey, and one in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
