Julian Edelman has been on point for the last year. He’s become arguably the unofficial face of the Patriots, challenging the hitherto unassailable position of Rob Gronkowski in that category (though there’s definitely room for both). Edelman continued this on Tuesday after Patriots practice, when he participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Created in support of former Boston College center fielder Peter Frates, who is battling ALS, the Ice Bucket Challenge has been the definition of a viral trend. Facebook is currently filled with willing volunteers, and the Patriots (like the Bruins) are no different. Edelman casually poured three full bags of ice into the Gatorade cooler, before nonchalantly upending it over himself.

During the video, he challenged fellow Patriots teammates Danny Amendola (“Amenbrola”), Rob “Yo Soy Fiesta” Gronkowski, and “Thomas Edward Patrick Brady.”

Well done Julian, well done. Keep in mind that it’s all good fun to pour ice buckets on yourself, but the real difference in actually fighting ALS, and supporting Frates and everyone else battling the disease, is in actual donations to the cause.

HERE IS HOW/WHERE TO DONATE
