Wolverine Worldwide, the company that produces local footwear lines like Saucony and Sperry Top-Sider, is officially moving its regional headquarters from Lexington to Waltham, per a recent deal with Boston Properties.

Boston Business Journal reports that the new Wolverine campus will be a 150,000 square foot space in the new CityPoint property in Waltham, which is owned by Boston Properties. Wolverine will act as the anchor tenant, taking up a total of 230,000 square feet in the development, and a move-in date is slated for June of 2016, according to the BBJ. The addition of Wolverine to the development is set to launch construction and development for the property, which will eventually incorporate restaurants and more businesses.

Planning to amass to a 510,700 square foot development, CityPoint will be located about 11 miles outside of Boston, off of Route 28 near the Winter Street and Totten Pond Road Interchange. Two multi-tenant office properties listed at 77 and 230 CityPoint will include fitness centers, cafes with outdoor seating, and ample parking spaces.

Currently, Wolverine Worldwide’s local home in Lexington is a 145,000 square foot property also owned by Boston Properties. A broker from Cassidy Turley, who represented the tenants, told the Boston Business Journal that the company was looking for a more urban experience with amenities, without sacrificing free parking, which they appear to have found in the new Waltham development.

In addition to Saucony and Sperry, Wolverine Worldwide produces Keds, Stride Rite and Patagonia Footwear, among others.
