Boston uberX rides are cheaper than ever, after Uber announced a permanent price cut for trips requested on its most popular platform Saturday night.

In an email sent to Uber users in Boston, the company announced it’s cutting uberX prices 15 percent, making uberX 40 percent cheaper than taxis. In June, Uber originally shed uberX prices 25 percent for its summer promotion.

“As our summer savings promotion comes to an end, we’re excited to introduce a 15% price cut that’s here to stay,” Uber said in an email to its customers. “From East Boston to Wellesley and everywhere in between, uberX is now the most affordable ride on the road.”

Here’s a breakdown of new uberX prices for three sample trips:

Uber users can use their invite code to recruit new users, who will then receive their first ride for free; users who have their invite code used will receive a free ride up to $30 for every new user referred.
