If you have yet to visit either Boston’s Bully Boy Distillers or Newton’s Hopsters Brew and Boards, then next month is your chance to do so. On September 11, Hopsters’ brewers will team up with Bully Boy’s co-founder, Will Willis, to brew a limited-edition small-batch specialty beer, according to a release. The brew will be a “barrel-aged Imperial Stout infused with the flavors and aromas of whiskey and oak,” dubbed Down Boy Stout.

Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or a whiskey fan, this event (and brew) is sure to be a winner for all. Willis and Hopsters’ brewers plan to brew the beer recipe in Hopsters’ kettles. The first 20 people to reserve their spot will be able to brew along with the team.

For non-brewers (like myself), there will be a Bully Boy craft cocktail menu available as well as a meet-and-greet with Bully Boy co-founder Will Willis.

Those who do choose to brew will receive 750ml champagne bottles of the exclusive barrel-aged beer, according to the release. An official source also tells us that whatever remains will be kegged and unveiled to the public at Hopsters on Repeal Day, December 5, 2014 (how appropriate).

The Brewing with Bully Boy Collaboration event will kick off at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 11 at Hopsters. Tickets to brew are $199 per individual and include 12 champagne bottles of the Down Boy Stout.
