The BostInno Beat is a daily newsletter and web video series that Chase and I send out every morning. We cover the only news that you need to know about the Boston tech community. Enjoy!

Solo today folks, although we did just film an incredible episode for tomorrow’s Beat.

The Big One

Greg: A Cape Cod based tech company has just been valued at $215 million. KKR announced yesterday that they are leading a $90 million financing in Savant Systems, which would give them about a 35% stake in the company.

Savant is a powerful internet of things company that sells systems that let you control lighting, stereos, sprinkler systems, home security systems, etc. all from your phone. According to the WSJ, Savant has installed its technology in yachts, European castles, California mansions and even Apple’s retail stores.

Love seeing a massive off the radar tech company being built down the Cape. And with a $200+ million valuation, Savant is one of the larger tech companies being built in MA.

Hot Goss
Greg: Here’s some confirmed goss. On August 12th, we gossed about Black Duck Software raising a round that was looking to be about $20 million large. Well today, Black Duck announced a $20 million dollar round led by GC and all previous investors. Nailed it.

Making Moves
Greg: Product Hunt is making some moves here in Boston. The SV based company is hosting a Boston meetup tonight at GA and has already started to show Boston some love with this ‘Made in Boston‘ list. I registered but cannot make the event, so one of you can take my slot. Just please take a pic and send it along!
