H.C.B. (which stands for Her Closet Boston) first surfaced on the web in 2012 to meet the needs of an online boutique that founder Hilary Marino felt was missing from the retail world. Marino wanted a place where she could shop a manageable collection of high quality pieces at affordable prices on an easy to use platform. So, Marino left her full time job at Macy’s in New York to bring H.C.B. into fruition. Starting with just six items purchased from a wholesale inventory site, H.C.B. has since developed into a full online store, touting boutique brands like Blu Pepper, Dollhouse, Lush and more.

Now, Marino is bringing that e-commerce experience to a brick-and-mortar store. As of Tuesday, September 2, H.C.B.’s first storefront is officially open in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner. The 500-foot space houses items from different brands amidst a silver and turquoise color scheme, with plush lounge chairs and full length mirrors dotting the interior. Aiming to keep her collections affordable, Marino prices many of her items at $60 or less.

The boutique will host a variety of in-store deals and events, like private shopping parties, personal shopping services, and monthly deals. For September, every $20 you spend will get you entered to win a $100 gift card to the store.

H.C.B. is located at 234 Harvard Street in Brookline, and its hours are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Take a virtual tour of the new store in the slideshow below.
