Style collaborations are what keep things in the retail world interesting. And when two notable brands combine, magical things tend to happen. At least, that’s the way it’s been in the past when locally headquartered New Balance has partnered with esteemed clothier J. Crew for exclusive footwear lines.

The newest collab, titled “Concrete Jungle” 998 is the third New Balance x J. Crew sneaker line to be released this year. First up was the “Inferno” line, a bright orange and deep purple suede sneaker, followed by “Independence Day,” an appealing red, white and blue shoe (naturally) that sold out on J. Crew’s website in a matter of minutes, according to Complex.

With “Concrete Jungle,” shoppers can expect a line of sneakers befitting the name: urban-bound shoes designed in earthy tones; Complex reports that the scheme was inspired by New York City. Look out for a camouflage shoe with pops of orange, muted greens, and the classic New Balance greys.

The line will land in select stores on Saturday, September 13, with a Boston locale on the short list of retailers to receive them first. Along with New York City’s The Liquor Store and On Lan Street in Hong Kong, Boston’s Copley Place men’s store will carry the “Concrete Jungle” New Balance and J. Crew collaborative line this weekend.

After that initial drop date, more stores in Boston, San Francisco, Honolulu, Costa Mesa, London and Hong Kong will get the limited-edition shoe on September 17. The line will be available on J. Crew’s e-commerce website starting on September 17 as well.
