If your weekends could use a little more culture, listen up. Tavern Road is resurrecting its popular Studio Sunday series for the fall season, meaning you can get up close with local artists while enjoying the restaurant’s street food and snacks.

Every fourth Sunday of the month, TR Street Foods, the Fort Point restaurant’s annex, is transformed into an art gallery featuring the works of rotating artists. Guests are invited to peruse and buy the art they see, with upcoming artists include Nicole Aquillano, Kaitlyn O’Brien, and Shea Alexander.

This time around, Studio Sundays will also host a fellow chef and artist. Tavern Road Chef Louis DiBiccari has invited Dave Becker of Sweet Basil and Juniper to bring his “art-to-table” mission to the event series on October 26. Becker believes that “locavorism” counts all the way down to the plates, beyond just the food, so he serves his dishes on plates and with silverware that he created himself. Becker currently uses these dishes at his two restaurants, and has spread the idea to neighboring locations, like Tavern Road.

Stay tuned for the first return of Studio Sundays on September 28, with featured artist Nicole Acquillano. The series will continue throughout the season until January, except December. The artist galleries will run from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sundays, with the bar opening at 4 p.m. Entry is free, but food, drink and art are available for purchase.
