Get your lederhosen ready, folks! Oktoberfest is officially upon us. The German festival, which takes place late September through early October, is taking over some of Boston’s best bars and restaurants. Starting this weekend, there will be beer gardens, Oompah bands and food deals galore! Here’s where we think you should be celebrating Oktoberfest in the Hub over the next few weeks.

Beat Hotel

Head to Harvard Square’s Beat Hotel on Sunday, October 12 for a Bavarian Beer Hall experience. The restaurant will feature community tables, German food, a live oompa band, German beers and of course, plenty of lederhosen. The event will last from noon to midnight.

The Beehive

If you find yourself in the South End, head over to The Beehive for their annual Oktoberfest Der Beehive event on Wednesday, October 8. The party will include German food and libations, and live entertainment from The Bavarian Hofbrau Band.

Bergamot

Bergamot is hosting a pop-up Oktoberfest celebration on Wednesday, October 1 at 10 p.m. The pop-up is $15 per person and includes food and entertainment. There will be a cash bar featuring the Oktoberfest beer specials as well. For more information and tickets, check here.

Bronwyn

Bronwyn in Somerville’s Union Square neighborhood is hosting a 10-day Oktoberfest celebration packed with live music, specialty foods, and plenty of beer. Bronwyn’s Oktoberfest celebration begins October 3 and lasts until October 12.

Harpoon Octoberfest

Harpoon will be celebrating their 25th Octoberfest celebration next month. The event kicks off on October 3 at 5:30 p.m. Then at 7:30 p.m. Harpoon CEO and co-Founder Dan Kenary will tap a ceremonial keg of Harpoon Octoberfest beer. The festival will continue through October 4 with German-style Oompah bands, a German chocolate cake-eating contest, brewer-led tours of the brewery and even a chicken-dancing contest.

Olde Magoun’s Saloon

This weekend, September 27 – 28, Olde Magoun’s Saloon is transforming into The Paulaner Biergarten. The event will feature six kinds of Paulaner beer on tap, including their Oktoberfest Marzen and Weisen, Munich Lager, Pils, Hefeweissbier and Salvador Beers.

Redbones BBQ

Redbones in Somerville will be celebrating Oktoberfest this Sunday, September 28. Starting at noon, the event will kick off with with a live Oompah band, German sausage, and of course, a beer garden.

Tavern in the Square

The popular sports bar and restaurant is offering up special Oktoberfest menu items for guests. The German-inspired menu will debut September 30 and will be available through the month of October.
