Daylight savings time has come to an end, meaning that maintaining your social life has become all the more challenging, thanks to 4 p.m. darkness. But don’t cry – just think of how sunny it was when you woke up this morning! (OK, and cold.)

Monday

Cook for Charity with Jenny Johnson – 6 to 8 p.m. – Cook – Jenny Johnson will join Chef Paul Turano at Cook for a night of cooking for charity. In addition to the regular Cook menu, they’ll be serving up special flatbread pizzas dubbed “The Jenny,” and 100 percent of the sales of each will be donated to the Pan Mass Challenge.

Tuesday

New Balance Girls’ Night Out – 6 p.m. – Westin Copley Place – BostInno’s Trendy Trainer, Caroline Earle, will lead ladies on an evening work out hosted by New Balance. The workout will begin at the Westin Copley Place, and guests will get tips on the night’s theme, staying fit on the go. There will also be apps, drinks and gift bags.

Wednesday

“Gringo Trails” Screening – 5 p.m. – Brattle Theater –  “Gringo Trails” is a film that looks at the impact of tourism on remote destinations. The screening is hosted by TourMatters. Use the code BOSTINNO for free admission.

BWME Fall Networking Event – 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. – Trade Boston – Boston Women in Media and Entertainment are hosting their fall event this Wednesday at Trade, for an evening of networking and mingling over drinks and apps. There will be a special guest as well. Tickets are $25 for nonmembers.

Taste of India – 6 to 9 p.m. – Diva Restaurant – Hosted by UNA-GB Young Professionals, Taste of India offers a spread of foods from Bombay, Bangalore and Madra, and invites globally minded people to join in for great food and great conversation. Tickets are $22.

Boston Social Athletes: November Social – 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. – Central Wharf Co. – Maintain your exercise momentum through the winter with the support of Boston Social Athletes at their November Social event. Free to attend.

Hip to Be Square: Building a Website with Squarespace –  6:30 to 8:30 p.m. – General Assembly – Want to learn how to make an awesome website? Head to General Assembly for a lesson in website building with Squarespace. Admissions is $35.

Restaurant R&D: Loyal Nine – 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. – BCAE – As part of BCAE’s Restaurant ‘Research and Development’ series that invites guests to test ideas and dishes for not yet opened restaurants, as a way to provide feedback. This time, upcoming East Cambridge restaurant Loyal Nine’s Chef Mark Sheehan will be serving dishes, and guests can join in the conversation. Tickets are $35.

Pintley Beer Night – 7 p.m. – East End Grille – Pintley has rounded up Peak Organic, Bantam Cider and Bully Boy Distillers for an evening tasting at East End Grille with new products like Peak’s Maple Collaboration, Bantam’s Farmhouse Style Cider and Bully Boy’s Hub Punch. No cover.

Thursday

12th Annual “Leave No One Behind” Gala Dinner – 6:30 p.m. – Seaport Hotel – This dinner and silent auction at the Seaport Hotel will benefit the New England Center for Homeless Veterans. There will also be presentations from Mayor Walsh and Mike Nikitas.

TechHub Boston Demo Night – 6:30 p.m. – Harpoon – Demo Night is the chance for local startups to display their products and give a demo to a live audience. Guests will be able to get a glimpse into what’s new and upcoming, and founders will receive feedback on their demos. There will be free beer and pretzels to go with the demos.

Out of the Box: Paint Like Picasso, Think Like Einstein – 6:30 p.m. – School of the Museum of Fine Arts – Join Art Resource for Collaborative Kids for an evening to support the organization at their annual auction benefit. There will be cocktails, hors d’oeuvres by Chef Josh Lewin, a live and silent auction and live music.

Fall Makeover Party – November 6 & 7 – Bluemercury Chestnut Hill – Bluemercury is hosting a series of fall makeover parties to help you get ready for the holiday season by trying out new products from the Trish McEvoy line. Reservations can be made between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
