Cambridge – it looks as though your after-dinner dessert plans are about to change dramatically. Boston Restaurant Talk is reporting (via a Facebook post) that Mike’s Pastry has opened their second location in Harvard Square.

Since the 1940’s, this cannoli destination has become both a local favorite and a tourist trap. Just try waiting in that 100-person line on a typical Friday or Saturday night for a strung-together box of limoncello cannoli. It’s the worth the wait though.

From the looks of it, the new Mike’s Pastry seems to be a tad sleeker than its North End counterpart – but that’s to be expected. If you’re looking for that old world pastry shop charm, you’ll still have to navigate your way through the North End’s winding streets. But if you just want a quick Mike’s Pastry fix, this new Cambridge locale has everything you need.

If you go: the new Mike’s Pastry location is at 11 Dunster Street in Cambridge.
