After seeing a New Hampshire resident become the first New Englander to win the DraftKings Millionaire Maker in October, two brothers from Boston’s North End officially won one for the daily fantasy startup’s home city. And once again, the key to the winning lineup was a member of the Patriots.

Dave and Rob Gomes, whose mother, Carla, owns and operates Antico Forno, Cobblestone, and Terramia Ristorante in the North End, are classic Patriots fans. And like their team, they approached the latest DraftKings millionaire challenge with a shrewd game plan. The key to their winning lineup combination was New England running back, Jonas Gray, who (though he had zero career touchdowns prior to Sunday) scored four in a single game.

The Patriots power running game would be a critical part in Bill Belichick’s game plan, the brothers reasoned, since New England’s game in the playoffs against the Colts last season had reflected that approach.

“Blount had four TDs vs. the Colts last year,” Dave noted. “So we knew they were going to run the ball,” Rob said following the final confirmation that they had won after the Monday Night Football game was over. Ultimately, the win was only ensured at the last possible moment during the Monday Night game between the Steelers and Titans, with other teams (who had Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell) posing threats until the bitter end. Finally, when it became clear that Pittsburgh only intended to kneel the ball to end the game, did the celebrating begin.

Here’s a video of the brothers, who can be seen in the Patriots uniforms behind the bar at the family-owned Antico Forno. Notably, their mother can be seen in the foreground. She’s one of the earliest to correctly recognize that the Steelers were about to kneel the ball down, ending the game and securing a million dollars for her sons. Eventually, the trademark DraftKings check appears, and celebration ensures (also, yes, the video is temporarily jostled by an overzealous celebration, but the phone happily survived, so no harm done). Video:

Both brothers have been playing DraftKings for no more than the start of the 2014 football season, and are yet another example of the rapidly growing user-base for the startup site. Their mother was initially skeptical that this was even real.

“I can’t believe it. This is insane,” Carla Gomes admitted. “They told me they were in the running to win a million dollars, and I said ‘That company’s fake.'”

Yet with the check in hand, and the real check on its way (since the big one is only for show), she was more than convinced that it’s a reality. Her sons are officially the first DraftKings Boston millionaire winners.
