Boston’s music scene is having a moment, folks. A vibrant one, actually.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Massachusetts-based footwear company, Converse, is bringing a brand new music festival to the Boston area. The music fest, dubbed Converse Rubber Tracks Live Boston, will be a free five-night event at the Sinclair in Harvard Square.

With popular multi-day concerts like Boston Calling, Life is Good, Summer Arts Weekend and Together Boston already taking place, this new Converse celebration is yet another notable notch in Boston’s music festival belt. And, considering the line-up, we’re certainly looking forward to the event this month.

The Converse Rubber Tracks Live Boston festival will kick off April 27, lasting through May 1. And according to the Globe, will feature acts like The Replacements, Passion Pit, Slayer, Chance the Rapper and more. The article also notes that tickets for the Converse events will be distributed similar to a lottery. Bostonians can register online at www.Converse-Music.com/boston, next Monday through Wednesday, by choosing two tickets for one of the five nights. Then, beginning Wednesday night, Converse will email those who have secured tickets to the festival.

Jed Lewis, Converse’s global music marketing director, told the Globe that the festival is expecting thousands of registrants. “Unfortunately the demand is going to outweigh the amount of tickets and space we have inside,” Lewis added.

The music festival also coincides with Converse’s move from North Andover, Mass. to its new 200,000-square-foot Boston headquarters on Lovejoy Wharf. For more information about the festival’s lineup, check here.
