After another epic running of the Preakness Stakes, American Pharoah kept the dream of a triple crown alive by storming to a convincing seven-length victory. Torrential rain greeted the top thoroughbreds and their jockeys right before the start of the race, but the results weren’t dramatically affected. Triple crown contender American Pharoah had all eyes on him, despite apparently being afraid of crowds. The Preakness results showcased yet another year of tightly contested racing at a world class level, with one horse dominating to win.

Here are the results for the 2015 Preakness Stakes, with American Pharoah becoming the 14th horse to win the first two triple crown legs since 1978:

Winner: American Pharoah

2nd: Tale of Verve

3rd: Divining Rod

The final leg of the triple crown, the Belmont Stakes, will take place on June 6. American Pharoah will try to become the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to win the coveted triple crown.

The Preakness Stakes was a particularly small field in 2015, with only eight horses scheduled to take the starting line. Clearly, after achieving victory at the Kentucky Derby, American Pharoah was the overwhelming favorite. However, strong competition was expected from Dortmund. The two horses share the same trainer, Bob Baffert.

Here’s what the pre-race odds looked like on Preakness race day:

1. American Pharoah / 4-5 / 1-1

2. Dortmund / 7-2 / 4-1

3. Mr. Z / 20-1 / 15-1

4. Danzig Moon / 15-1 / 12-1

5. Tale of Verve / 30-1 / 25-1

6. Bodhisattva / 20-1 / 25-1

7. Divining Rod / 12-1 / 12-1

8. Firing Line / 4-1 / 5-2
