There are already a lot of awards events in Boston. From hundreds of “Best of” categories to countless envelopes being opened in front of companies seated around white linen tablecloths, as a city, we do more than our fair share of selecting, listing, recognizing, and thanking.
But we want to do it differently.
If you hadn’t noticed, Boston is becoming one of the most influential cities in the country. Yes, we are often recognized for our varsity drinking habits, or our world-class institutions… but look closely and you’ll see brilliant ideas, people, and businesses popping up and growing up in neighborhoods all over town.
So we asked ourselves, “What would happen if we got the best and brightest in one room to celebrate their genius?”
And the answer? Well, it would make for an absolutely epic night.
50 on Fire will be an event like no other. No boring speeches, no age limits, no formal seating, no bad food. Instead, we’ll bring together the hottest individuals and companies in a way only BostInno can and celebrate our incredible innovations and innovators, instead of putting them to sleep.
We warmed up last year with the Insider Awards, but make no mistake: while the attitude and fun most certainly remains, this is no Ned Devine’s blowout. 2012 was a big year for us, and we’re ready to throw our hat in the proverbial formal event ring with what will be the signature Streetwise Media event in Boston, and annually in every city we continue to expand to. The attire will be formal. The food, drink, and dancing will be fine. Tickets (yes, tickets) will be very limited.
On March 26th, the Innovation District’s beautiful Moakley Courthouse will be full of the people and brands you nominated, waiting in anticipation to find out who will win.
All of the best parts of award events, with none of the stuff everyone hates. Only an incredible group of people, raising their glasses to toast 50 reasons, both old and new, why Boston burns bright.
