Treat Yo’ Self is an ongoing InTheCapital series that highlights a deal in the District where you can indulge without suffering financial ruin. Check back each Tuesday for a new way to pretend you’re rich.

It’s late October, which means we are in the middle of oyster season (any month that ends in -r, FYI). The only problem with oysters is the price. Pearl Dive Oyster Palace, the oyster bar of the Black Salt Restaurant Group in Logan Circle, hosts Monday Oyster Mania every Monday, allowing oyster lovers in the District to slurp the goods at half off.

Pearl Dive’s oysters on the half shell are usually $2.50 a pop, but on Monday Oyster Mania they’re just $1.25 from 4 p.m. to close. They also have hot oyster plates for $6 (usually $9) : wood grilled oysters, tchoupitoulas, cornmeal crusted, angels on horseback, and my personal favorite, the Rockefeller.

A rep of Pearl Dive said, “Monday Oyster Mania is a great way for people to try a variety of different oysters based on flavor profile and region, including premium oysters like Belons.” The Black Restaurant Group sources their oysters from the northern tip of the Chesapeake Bay through the Toby Island Oyster Company for Pearl Dive Oyster Palace.

If you time your visit well, you can enjoy their happy hour prices at the bar and in the dining room until 7 p.m. Once you have everything in place, the world can finally become your oyster.
