The men’s single semifinals event for Wimbledon 2013 is live streaming online below and has kicked off this morning with no. 1 seed Novak Djokovic facing no. 8 Juan Martín del Porto of Argentina at 8am ET. The second match takes place this afternoon at 11am ET with no. 2 seed and 2012 Olympic gold medalist Andy Murray taking on unlikely 22-year old and no. 24 seed Jerzy Janowicz from Poland.

Wimbledon has proven why it’s one of the most respected and prestigious tennis tournaments in the world after the numerous upset and underdogs have shaken the event to its core. The likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova were all eliminated despite their high tournament seeds and world rankings.

Djokovic has the 2011 Wimbledon title under his belt and is looking to build that collection against del Porto today. Del Porto is in his first Wimbledon but has played in the remaining major Grand Slam events, taking the U.S. Open back in 2009. If anyone can take out Djokovic, this year’s Australian Open winner, it’s del Porto.

Andy Murray survived a quarterfinals scare against the unseeded Fernando Verdasco, taking Murray to a close five set match. Whether the trying face off against Verdasco has tired Murray out or refueled his motivation is something we’ll find out later today. The London Games gold medalist has yet to win a Wimbledon title for himself, reaching the finals last year but eventually losing in four sets to reigning champ Roger Federer. Surprisingly Murray has zero Grand Slams under his belt, though he made it to the Australian Open finals in 2010, 2011, and 2013.

The women’s single finals will take place tomorrow with no. 23 seeded Germany native Sabine Lisicki taking on no. 15 Marion Bartoli of France. Sabine gained substantial notoriety after ousting Maria Sharapova from the early stages of Wimbledon and is riding a lot of momentum heading into the championship match. Tune in at 9am ET to catch the women’s finals.
