Just yesterday Apple released an update for its flagship mobile operating system, iOS 7 beta 3 for developers, as the iOS 7 release date is just months away. Last night, Apple followed up with devs by affording them another update, this time for OS X Mavericks, the 10.9 version of its next-gen operating system for its lineup of MacBooks and iMacs.

As noted by Apple Insider, the latest update comes just two weeks after the previous one and shows no major changes or overhauls meaning the updates are likely just performance tweaks and minor bug alterations.

One of the changes is in regards to the iCloud keychain feature “as the seed is not backward compatible with iOS 7 Seed 2 or Mavericks Developer Seed 2.”

Another issue that has been addressed has to do with the ever-troublesome Apple Maps which has arguably been the Cupertino company’s biggest bust to date. The new update, though, takes on graphics problems that occur when resizing or switching from standard to satellite view.

Maps is expected to be one of the major overhauls in OS X Mavericks as the mapping app debacle resulted in the ousting of iOS chief Scott Forstall last year. Plagued with poor navigation, warped 3D city and landscape, and a striking lack of Apple’s signature user-friendliness, the Maps feature is certainly neat the top of Apples to-do list.

At its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) back in June, Apple showcased what it has planned for Maps and for Mavericks in general. Expect the GPS-based traveling guide to boast 3-D imaging of buildings and landmarks, which users can sync  to thier favorite locations and directions across all device.

Among the other improvements expected to come with the launch of Mavericks this fall include Finder tabs, App Nap, Compressed Memory, Multitasking, Safari, Siri, and many more.

Apple has been doling out updates to Mavericks and iOS 7 in two week increments so stay tuned to BostInno for the latest developments on the two.
